First I need to apologize to our fiends, as our buddy, PQfan deleted our last site on accident, as well all of our blog history. That being said it appears as though PQfan has picked up exactly where he left off.
In my opinion, the Bill Brady campaign for governor, needed to redirect the negative ads that Pat Quinn has been using to attack him for months on end. Pat Quinn has very clearly taken a page out of the Rod Blagojevich campaign playbook, which is simply trying to dismember your opponent, so they can't even show their face in public. However, Pat Quinn has failed to do that.
Gov. Quinn's campaign has taken a “shotgun approach” to messaging. That worked really well for Hillary Clinton…
Now that Sen. Brady is up with a new television ad, I have to think that he has seen the same poll results that were published by the largest pollsters in the country, which show Senator Brady approaching, or surpassing 50%, when you factor in leaners.
This new Brady added is nothing more than a tool to insulate Sen. Brady from Quinn's continued attacks.
I sat down to write this post, I wasn't really sure what I was going to talk about.
The past few weeks it's been disheartening to watch the Pat Quinn for Governor campaign seemed to fall apart at the seams, first they lost their media consultant, then their pollster. The only advancing to be working, with the ad attacking State Sen. Bill Brady about his failure to pay income taxes, even though he made millions of dollars.
Lo and behold today my prayers were answered.
Although I'm not privy to the internal polling numbers of the Sen. Bill Brady campaign for governor, I have to believe that they are seeing some bad things happen to the good Senator's polling numbers. In my political experience, the only time you respond to your opponent, is when your numbers start to bottom out.
And that is exactly what Bill Brady did today.
It appears as though the Gov. Pat Quinn campaign is finally beginning to pick up some momentum, and possibly move away from their former media company and their former pollster was a good decision.
Pat Quinn has been hammering Sen. Bill Brady on this income tax issue, and now Brady responds.
What does this mean? Is Brady simply trying to insulate himself from Queens one attack at it? Or, as I've stated above, is the Brady campaign beginning to see numbers that indicate Brady's support is beginning to erode? Well only time will tell, I like to believe, at least for today, that Gov. Pat Quinn finally has his campaign moving in the right direction.
